The works in the La Souffrance et L'Aventure Series are defined by a sense of play between symbols and language. Various subjects such as critters, flora, and whimsical structures are linked with words created in my own faux language. The dichotomies between text and image serve to encourage the viewer to construct meaning, even a storyline. Purely descriptive titles further blur the distinctions.
